Disclaimer: I was not in the best mood when I wrote this. It is not entirely accurate. I have taken artistic licence. But it cheered me up a bit.
The following is a true reflection of my emotions, and a *partly* true reflection of TFS.
Also, the last line needs work artistically and context functionally but I ran out of time. Some how “the VSTS version of the PowerShell step has not yet been rolled out to on-prem TFS so I couldn’t write in-line PowerShell and pass variables to it” didn’t quite fit.
When you want to run a build,
You’d better be pretty strong willed,
If you’re going to try your luck with TFS.
There’s a swish web interface,
But the admin console’s not so grace-
ful, half the time you need to use VS.

I had to make a correction,
To a prior default collection,
But couldn’t find the right tool for the job,
The web, the console, VS,
Docs were overbose, I was stressed,
Adding a new project made my veins throb,

But then I got my knickers in a twist,
You can’t add a ReadyRoll proj to the VCS root,
Couldn’t find the tool to add a folder,
Messed up my mappings, got quite sober,
The project pretend to get deleted – it was not a hoot,

I finally got that working,
But trouble was a lurking,
There was no VSO agent in the queue,
There were plenty in the pool,
(I was beginning to drool),
And what’s the difference between queues and pools I ask you?

To create release definitions needs ‘advanced’ creds,
And managing artifacts,
Is like herding frisky cats,
And TFS PS steps don’t support custom deployments,
